:: 2018 - Be Prepared ::

The 2018 season is almost upon us. Just wanted to send out a heads up to ensure that those who need new/replacement equipment, to take your business to The Sports Exchange on Burrard (5th & Burrard).

Helmets, gloves, bags, and more.

If you're interested in buying a bat for a team you play on in another league - or even just to have as a bat for SPFK, we have a few remaining.
2017 bats ($75 each): 2 x 30oz Demarini The One (34"x30oz)
2016 bats ($40 each): 2 x 28oz Easton Salvo, 1 x 30oz Easton Salvo
NOTE: All other 2017 bats have been sold.

We are informally a 10 team league again, but waiting for the formal announcement. A tentative schedule is being posted shortly.

Remember our league this year will be using Game On for scheduling, scores, standings, announcements. Get the app today or visit the GameOn website:

Concessions are available to the league for use if interested in a fundraiser at the field. Contact House for more information and to schedule a date at the field for your fundraiser (so we don't end up with competing fundraisers on a given day).

:: 2016 Pre-Season Manager's Meeting Recap ::

Manager's Meeting Recap
Below, the following items were covered off at the Manager's Meeting. Check with your team manager if you have any questions that you'd like answered.
  • Teams (confirmation of the returning teams, plus that all teams had sufficient numbers - both total and with girls)
  • Schedule/Duties (review of the revamped schedule and the reassignment of duties to even out the game times and duties performed between all teams as best we can)
  • Equipment (review of bats, purchase plan for bats going forward, balls and the discussion around gold vs gray vs hot dots). No changes planned for 2016.
  • Dates (touched briefly on weekends with no games, special weekends - SPFK, Playoffs, FBL vs Restaurant League competition, etc.)
  • Field Preparation (some time before opening weekend plus ongoing through the season and finally before the tournament)
  • Web Site (if you're reading this - you've been informed!)
  • Roles & Responsibilities (a mini-committee is being formed this year to help with the efforts required and to assist in the work required - kudos to both Kathy and Steph/Francis for their dedicated efforts); for 2016:
    • Finance: Stephanie/Francis (thank you)
    • Food / Supplies: Jason / Clear (thanks Clear!)
    • Libations: Krista / Nick (big thank you)
  • SPFK Fundraiser - FBL vs Restaurant (Sunday Funday) League (more details to follow on that and you're manager will be sending out details). Just mark Saturday June 18th on you calendar)
Exhibition Games and Spring Kick Off
The exhibition schedule is below and we have room for more games (see note below as well). After the games, the plan is to head to the Cove - dirt, grass stains and all - and mingle up with the league, share a few pints and a grab some grub. Appreciate teams are welcome to do whatever they want, but it would be nice to get the league together once before the season starts.

Exhibition Games Scheduled

  • 11:00A: Kids vs Skeleton Crew
  • 12:30P: Sexpos vs Dawgs CANCELLED
  •  2:00P: Riddlers vs Seymour Results
