:: 2017 - Week 6 ::

Sunshine welcomed in Week 6 and a full slate of games were played back at the ol' FBL park.

The morning opener saw a battle of teams expected to challenge for the title, where the Aces and Marvels hooked up. The battle was back and forth and the ending was fit for the billing as the Aces eked out a tight 11-10 win over the Marvels, dropping the Marvels to a surprising 2-6 record. That was the Marvels 4th loss by two or less runs - so a few key hits/stops from being 6-2.

The next set of games saw the Aces and Riddlers match up on the north field. A hotly contested affair, the Aces pulled out their second straight one-run victory 12-11, moving to 6-2 and sitting in solo second place.

The south diamond saw the Seymour Results and Canniballs square off. Despite being tied in the standings, the Results unleashed a fury and stormed off with a 27-5 win, pushing the Canniballs into basement with a 1-6 record.

In the early afternoon match ups, the Riddlers and Sexpos took to the field, where the Sexpos exacted some revenge for a lopsided loss earlier in the season, winning 11-3. The second loss of the day dropped the Riddlers back below .500 at 4-5. The Sexpos improved to 5-2.

The other field saw the Dawgs and Results play and the results were anything but in Seymour's favour. The Dawgs barked their way to a sound 23-5 win dropping the Results to 2-6.

The mid afternoon game was a rematch from the week before and the Crew and Dawgs battled it out. With clutch and timely hitting and stifling defence, the Dawgs got redemption with a textbook 14-5 win, ending the Skeleton Crew's unbeaten streak at 7. The Crew fell to 7-1 while the Dawgs climbed back up the standings with two wins, moving above .500 and sitting at 5-4 - solo 5th.

The finale brought out the Franchise and Nads and a true battle ensued. The Nads got out of the gate quickly, throwing up 10 runs to take a solid 10-5 lead after the 3rd. But the game Franchise clawed back to even things up at 12 after 6 innings of play. The completion of the comeback fell short though as the defending champs dropped a 3 spot in the top of the 7th and then shut the door to win 15-12. The win moves the Nads to 5-2 while the Franchise drops to 2-5 after another close battle.

We're at our regular FBL park this week as actions kicks off early with the Franchise and Seymour Results kickstarting the day.
