Well, Week 5 brought with is mixed weather and a full slate of close games. The weekend was highlighted by the battle of the undefeated teams (Sexpos vs VC Marvels) as well as a few match ups of big underdogs vs massive favourites. No game disappointed! As the weekend closed, no game was decided by more than 4 runs!

In the opener, the Dawgs and the Aces hooked up, with the Dawgs riding a 3 game winning streak and the Aces on a 2-game winning streak. In the end, one of the streaks has to end and the Aces tacked on win #3 on the season, coming all the way back from an early 11-2 deficit (after the 3rd) and leaping into a tie for 4th with the Dawgs and the Nads (each team having a 1-1 record among the three tied).

In game 2, the match up featured the defending playoff champs, VC Marvels against the defending regular season champs, Sexpos. It was a back and forth tilt as the sluggers and the defense took over parts of the game. In the end, the Sexpos walked away with an 18-14 win and take over solo top spot in the standings at 5-0, while the Marvel fall for the first time and slip to 4-1 on the season.

The afternoon opened with a pairing of the Nads vs the Franchise. A defensive gem, this had the fans wanting more as they fought and clawed for runs. In the end, the Nads chalked up another victory to work their record to 3-2 while the Franchise came up short yet again in another tight battle, dropping to 1-4 even though their +/- stands at a -2/per game - very respectable.

The mid-afternooner saw old rivals square off as the Kids and the Riddlers faced off. Games don't get much tighter than this as the Riddlers walked off with a 13-12 come from behind victory to bump their season record to 3-2. The Kids, suffering their second straight close defeat (2 runs last week, 1 run this week), drop to 0-5.

And the Sunday evening closer paired off the 4 time champs, Skeleton Crew, against the feisty Seymour Results squad. With the Crew's skipper on another continent, Seymour looked to take advantage of some possible disarray and jumped out to solid 8-1 lead. The fans became antsy in what could be looked at as the upset of the year in the making, but sometimes, things just aren't meant to be and the Crew showed tremdous forititude and mucked out a 12-11 win to up their record to 4-1. Seymour Results falls to 0-5 after a very respectable effort from the squad top to bottom.
