Starting from the very top - a big shout out and congratulations go to the Nads for pulling off the tournament victory in a exciting fashion, a 9-inning championship game, against the Aces, scoring a 15-12 win. As the scoreboard shows, it looked very promising in the early going for the Nads as they built a 8-2 lead after the 4th inning, extending it to 11-4 going into the bottom of the 7th. That's where the Aces showed the mettle and fought and clawed their way back by passing 7 runners across the plate to tie the game at 11 and force extra innings. After an exchange of runs in 8th inning, the Nads secured the game with a few clutch hits to score 3 runs in the top half of the 9th. The Aces stuck with it, but failed to cash in on a couple of baserunners in their half and the Nads celebrated their first playoff title since 2001.
And from the picture above, it looks like the Nads had something looking down on them during the game.

In the semi-finals, both games were exciting, result in the two top seeds from the round robin (5-0 Skeleton Crew and 5-0 VC Marvels) falling (Nads over Marvels, Aces over Crew) setting up the title game.
Overall, lots of great ball was played to the point where both divisions had their final game in the round robin have major implications. Had the results been reversed in those two games, the North Division would have had a tie for first with three teams at 3-1, whilst the South division would have had three teams tied at 2-2 for 2nd place. Luckily for the Commissioner, no tiebreakers were required.
Special thanks to our concession staff for working long days and to the friends, family and fans who came out to support the games and the league. Those are the reasons that this is the best league in Vancouver!
