Week 11 stopped by and it was met with faces from yesteryear as some of the leagues past players stopped by to play a few games. On top of that, the league put on another great showing on and off the field.
In the opener, the Nads and Marvels squared off in a game both needed to win to make a move in the standings. The Nads took advantage of their bats and hammered home a convincing 15-6 win to move to 8-6 - a similar position they were in last year when they tore off a series of wins to make the league's final weekend a winner take all double header with the eventual regular season champions, the Skeleton Crew. Can the Nads duplicate the feat again in 2017?
The Marvels regrouped after the opener and looked to remind teams that they are far better than their record indicates and did so with very sound defense, clutching hitting and an all around solid game - taking their second match 6-2 over the Aces. The Marvels moved to 4-10 - a record very unreflective of their season play. The Aces moved on to their second game against the Franchise, looking to avoid a weekend sweep.
In the other late morning game, the Canniballs were forced to forfeit against the Riddlers. With the win, the Riddlers bumped up to 10-5 and sit in 2nd place.
The Canniballs managed to restock their roster in an hour and took to the field against the Sexpos - but alas, the Sexpos came out hot and never looked back. A sound 19-2 drubbing left the Canniballs with a 1-13 record on the year. The Sexpos moved on to play the Dawgs.
The other field showcased the Aces and Franchise and the fans were left wanting more - and both teams poured runners across the plate with relative ease. Bats were as hot as the scorching sun and defense played second fiddle while the Aces managed to walk away with a 19-14 decision and keep their piece of 2nd place. The Franchise fell to 5-8, a single game up on the Marvels, good enough for 7th place.
In the mid-afternoon game, the Sexpos and Dawgs battled in another relatively low scoring affair. Sound plays in the field, some quality pitching on both sides and a few extra timely hits left the Sexpos ahead in the end - 8-4. With the win, the Sexpos moved up to 9-5, a half game out of 2nd and now currently tied with the 9-5 Dawgs.
<editor note: there is something witty that was to have been placed here regarding the Dawgs, but the editor's memory is failing - but it was awesomely funny and very witty and was a little mockery of the Dawgs and their fearless leaders - Jamie and Todd>
The finale brought together the Skeleton Crew and Seymour Results. A slow and steady offense kept the Crew going while trying to hold the Results back. Ultimately, the Crew managed to add another win in a convincing 19-4 victory. With the win, the Crew improve to 12-1 while Seymour Results fall to 2-12.
