:: 2017 - Week 8 ::

Well, our first week at the new home was less than ideal but some ball was played and some fun was had. First off - Happy Father's Day to all the dads in our league.

The opener had the Aces and Riddlers pair off in a rematch from a couple of weeks earlier - a close 12-11 Aces win. This second go around was not nearly the nail biter as the Riddlers stepped on the gas out of the gate, maxing out for 15 in the first three innings en route to a 24-5 crushing. The win moves the Riddlers up to 7-5, good enough for 14 points.

The next game on the north diamond had the Skeleton Crew and Franchise take to the field under a little mist. The Crew threw up 3+ in the first three innings and then held the franchise off the score sheet for 4 of the first 6 innings. In the end, the Crew walked away with a 17-10 win and improved their first place record to 9-1.

The south diamond saw the Aces take their second game by forfeit over Seymour Results. The Aces finished the weekend at 7-4, in 3rd place due to the tiebreaker with the Dawgs.

That was followed by a second forfeit by Seymour against the Dawgs.  The Dawgs vault up to 2nd at 7-4, while Seymour falls to 2-9.

The weather began to improve over the afternoon games, starting with the Canniballs and Franchise. Defence took over the field and the two teams fought it out to the tune of 7-2. With the win, the Franchise kept their hold on 7th, one game ahead of the Marvels and two games back of the Nads.

The Canniballs looked to rebound against the Marvels, but came up against a few big hits and timely outs as the Marvels improved to 3-6 on the year with a 15-10 win. The Canniballs dropped to 1-9 on the season.

In the finale, two big dogs took to the ring as the Sexpos and Nads squared off. The Sexpos needing a win to try and keep pace with the league leading Skeleton Crew and the Nads looking to bounce back after back to back losses. The Sexpos, opting to play a guy short, held things tight until late when the Nads  managed to take the lead and come away with a 13-11 win. The Nads improved to 6-4 while the Sexpos fell to 6-3.
